SPJ seeks essays from high school students

The Society of Professional Journalists is hosting a high school essay contest. The topic this year is: Why is it important that we have news media that are independent of the government?

Any student enrolled in public, private, and home school is eligible to participate.Winning essayists will be awarded scholarships.
