The Journal North, the Albuquerque Journal’s edition for Santa Fe and much of Northern New Mexico, is seeking a versatile reporter who can split time between local sports coverage and news. According to JournalismJobs.com, the Journal is posting this job for a second time due to unforseen delays in filling the position earlier this year.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate they can cover a high school basketball game one day and produce a news feature about a city council issue the next. Good writing and a knack for strong features are required. Spanish language skills are a plus. Two or three years daily newspaper experience preferred.

The Journal North has transitioned recently from a daily section to a weekly print edition with a strong web presence for breaking and daily news.The Santa Fe staff also contributes daily stories often to the statewide paper.  Applicants should be comfortable with posting stories, images and video on-line and pushing their stories on social media. Salary will be in the $34,000-$37,000 range.
