Journalism students from New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Wyoming are invited to apply now for a scholarship to cover registration costs of the Region 9 Society of Professional Journalists conference April 15-16 at UNM in Albuquerque.

Apply here for scholarships before the midnight deadline April 1.
There will be 10 winners from New Mexico and 7 winners from outside New Mexico. Winners will be informed by April 4th.
The conference features a great line up for professionals and students. Guest speakers include new media wizard Robert Hernandez of USC, ethics expert Fred Brown of SPJ, digital security guru Dave Maass of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Nancy Watzman of the Internet Archives. We’ll be putting a spotlight on challenges for student journalists, covering the income gap, solutions journalism, managing backpack coverage, cops and justice, and much, much more. The conference includes the Mark of Excellence Awards ceremony, a student job fair, a silent auction, plus a rooftop reception hosted by Albuquerque Free Press.
Hope to see you there!
P.S.  Don’t forget the student scholarship apps need to be in by midnight April 1st.  And ALL registrations for the conference should be in by April 8!
