Region 9 Director John Ensslin reminds us that the deadline is coming up fast for the Top of the Rockies journalism competition. Here is his message this morning:

By John Ensslin

There’s still time to enter your best work in SPJ’s Top of the Rockies Journalism contest. This contest is open to journalists in New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado.

You don’t have to be an SPJ member to enter, however, membership has its benefits. Members get their first entry free plus a discounted fee of $10 per entry. Non-members pay $15 per entry.

Entries must be postmarked by Dec. 4.

For a complete description of the rules, categories and an entry form, go to:
http://www.coloradospjpro.com/contest.html

Take a look at the wide range of categories and surely you will find at least a few that are appropriate for your work during the past year. And your participation will help raise funds for SPJ New Mexico, because after expenses the receipts are passed over to the Region 9 state chapters, pro rated by the number of entries received from members in each chapter.

Don’t delay … get your clips and sample reels ready now before it’s too late.
